From Our Paddock to Your Plate: The Journey of Maasdorp Meats

James

Discover how our family farm raises grass-fed, hormone-free lamb and beef using regenerative practices—and brings it straight from our paddocks in West Pinjarra to your table.

Meet the Animals Behind Your Maasdorp Meats

Our Dorper lambs and Angus beef cattle aren't just livestock—they're the heart of our farming operation here at Midway Farm Stall. These animals spend their days grazing freely across our paddocks in West Pinjarra and West Coolup, living the way nature intended. You'll often see them moving across the pastures, enjoying genuine access to open space and fresh grass.

Every animal you see on our farm ends up on your table as Maasdorp Meats. We raise purebred Dorper lambs known for their hardiness and quality, alongside grass-fed Angus cattle that thrive on our natural pastures. They're not just numbers to us—they're the reason we farm the way we do, and their wellbeing directly affects the quality of meat you receive.

If you visit Midway Farm Stall, you can meet some of our friendly farm animals. They love good company and are always up for a pat and a photo! Seeing where your food comes from creates a connection you just don't get at the supermarket.

What Regenerative Farming Really Means on Our Land

Regenerative farming isn't just a buzzword for us—it's how we manage every paddock, every season, every day. We use biological and regenerative farming practices across our properties, which means we focus on building healthy soil, diverse plant life, and resilient ecosystems. Our pastures are chemical and artificial inputs free, creating healthier plants that feed healthier animals.

Instead of relying on synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, we work with nature's own systems. Our grazing patterns help the land regenerate naturally, allowing native grasses and plants to thrive without interference. The soil improves year after year, storing more carbon and supporting more life. This approach takes more planning and patience than conventional methods, but the results speak for themselves in the quality of our pastures and the animals that graze them.

By shopping local and choosing Maasdorp Meats, you're helping our passion for farming by creating a sustainable future for our paddock-to-plate farming operation. Every purchase supports farming practices that regenerate the land rather than deplete it.

Grass Fed and Grass Finished: No Shortcuts, No Nasties

All our lamb and beef are grass fed and grass finished. That means from birth to your plate, our animals eat nothing but pasture—no grain lots, no feedlots, no shortcuts. They spend their entire lives on our natural pastures, grazing the way their bodies are designed to process food. This creates meat with better flavor, better texture, and better nutritional profile than conventionally raised alternatives.

We use regenerative farming practices, which means our lamb and beef are grass-fed, grass-finished, and hormone-free—grown on natural pastures without using chemicals. No hormones, no antibiotics, no nasties added at any stage. What you get is pure, clean meat raised the old-fashioned way with modern regenerative knowledge.

Please note Maasdorp Meats is not a butcher and on the rare occasion we might have to substitute your order with a similar cut as we are truly paddock to plate. We only supply the cuts we have available from our own animals, processed to our standards and delivered fresh to your door.
